A monumental complex which features remains of a medieval castle, a modern fortress and a military fortification.
The castle, which was built during the second half of the 11th century, was quite extensive, occupying over 2,000 m2, though nowadays, just fragments of walls and rocky foundations can be seen. It was refurbished several times over the years, with the latest changes occurring at the end of the 19th century when a military fortification was erected there, playing an important role in the Carlist Wars.
